The Amygdala, an almond-shaped part of the human brain, responsible for emotion, fear and sexual desire, was the inspirational basis for this CD and it’s conceptual illustration of feelings and emotions through picture and sound.
The artist Nicole Pfister and the musician Lukas Thoeni have charged into the depths of an emotional abysm and explored the nearly endless spectrum of human feelings. The insights and discoveries they have made on this expedition have become manifest through their pictures and corresponding  music.
Amygdala’s intent is not an exact description of our typical feelings and emotions, but rather an intriguing and sometimes confusing paraphrasing thereof.
Groove being the vessel, an acoustic message is conveyed, whereas the human body portrays its visual equivalent. Every piece is based on a complex constellation of feelings or the confession of a dramatic emotional experience.
